Ice cream and gelato labels that stay on in the freezer
A tub of ice cream goes from a warm kitchen to a deep freezer to a customer's hand, with frost along the way. The label has to grip through all of it. Freezer-grade white stock is made for cold storage so flavour names stay on the lid where customers can read them.

Cold storage label tips
Apply before freezing
Put labels on clean, dry tubs at room temperature and give them time to bond before the tub goes into the freezer.
Frost and moisture
Condensation on a tub stops any adhesive. Dry the surface first, and work in a warm, dry area.
Lid versus side
A lid label is seen when tubs are stacked flat in a display freezer; side labels are seen in upright cabinets. Many makers use both.
Flavour range
A shared layout and a colour per flavour makes a freezer cabinet easy to scan.
Our recommendation
Material and finish
Choose the freezer-grade white stock for anything stored frozen, and test on your actual tub. Standard waterproof stock is fine for chilled-only items such as yoghurt or mousse.
