1 × 1 in square labels
A 1 inch square is about the size of a postage stamp, so it suits a logo mark, a QR code or a single word rather than paragraphs of text. It is a favourite for sealing small packages and for marking parts that have very little flat space.

1 × 1 in labels: typical jobs
Envelope and bag seals
Close a kraft mailer or a cello treat bag with a tiny branded square instead of tape.
QR codes on small items
A 1 inch QR code still scans from a phone at arm's length if you keep a quiet margin around it.
Price and SKU dots
Shops use them for item codes on jewellery boxes, lip balm tins and sample vials.
Planner and kit stickers
Crafters and teachers hand them out in sets, one icon per square.
Design notes
Keep text at 6 pt or larger and leave at least 1/16 inch of clear space inside the cut line, because on a 1 inch label every millimetre of drift is visible.
For boxes and pouches allow 1.25 × 1.25 in of flat face. On cylinders the 1 in side wraps neatly once the diameter is at least 0.4 in.
1 × 1 in gives you 78% more printable area than 0.75 × 0.75 in, while 1.25 × 1.25 in has 56% more again.

Your 1 × 1 in questions answered
Is 1 inch too small for a QR code?
No, a 1 inch (25 mm) QR code is about the practical minimum. Use a short URL so the code has fewer modules, print it in solid black on white and test it with two different phones on your proof.
How are 1 × 1 in labels priced?
The live engine quotes $176.10 for the minimum run of 100, then $174.48 at 1,000 – about $0.174 per piece – before the $45.00 setup.
Do 1 × 1 in labels work in a label dispenser?
Yes. Ask for a 3″ core for table-top dispensers (about 11,500 a roll) or a 1″ core for handheld ones (about 3,000).
What size should my artwork be for 1 × 1 in labels?
1.125 × 1.125 in with bleed, which is 338 × 338 px at 300 dpi. Keep words 1/16″ inside the edge.
