Spice and seasoning labels for jars, tins and shaker lids

A spice rack is a wall of small jars, so the label has to be readable at a glance and distinctive in a row. Blenders often sell a dozen or more blends, which makes consistent layout and clear colour coding more important than fancy effects.

  • Best for: Small glass jars, tins, shaker lids, refill pouches
  • Recommended stock: Matte white; clear on glass
  • Typical shape: Round lid, rectangle side

Spice label pointers

Read it from the shelf edge

Put the blend name in the largest type and the heat or flavour cue second.

Lid and side

A round lid label shows in drawers, a side label in racks. Many brands print both for each blend.

Oil and dust

Seasoning oils and powders marks surfaces. Wipe jars clean first for the best bond.

Gift sets

A set of four or six blends in a box makes a natural gift; give each a colour accent.

Our recommendation

Material and finish

Matte finish on white stock gives a clean, legible label that tolerates kitchen splashes. Clear stock lets glass jars look uncluttered, and raised UV on a flame or leaf icon adds a tactile cue.

Please note: Food labelling rules (for example bilingual English/French, net quantity, ingredient and allergen statements, nutrition facts) differ between Canada and the US and by product. We print the artwork you supply and do not review labels for regulatory compliance; check requirements with the CFIA (Canada), the FDA/USDA (US) or a qualified adviser.
