Work on a 3638 × 938 px file with an 11.875 × 2.875 in inner guide; below 8 pt, text blurs at arm's length. On a 4:1 strip, one line set large reads better than three lines set small.
For boxes and pouches allow 12.25 × 3.25 in of flat face. On cylinders the 12 in side wraps neatly once the diameter is at least 3.9 in.
12 × 3 in has 0% more space than 8 × 4.5 in, while 7 × 5.5 in adds 7% more. The bigger 7 × 5.5 in runs about $0.05 extra for 1,000.
