6 × 2.5 in labels
6 × 2.5 in works out to 152 × 64 mm – a little smaller than a banknote. We checked it against common containers: it works for a wrap around the 4 oz Boston round (6.15 in round) as well as a half-dozen cupcake box top (7.5 × 5 in). Text-wise, plan on about 16 lines of roughly 99 characters at 8 pt; a full-size UPC-A barcode fits too. 2.5 × 6 is simply this size in the other orientation – same die, same price.

Where 6 × 2.5 in labels work best
Full wrap: 4 oz Boston round
6 in around a 6.15 in body is a near-complete wrap; keep barcodes away from the 0.15 in seam.
Half-dozen cupcake box top label
Leaves 0.75 in at the sides and 1.25 in top and bottom on a 7.5 × 5 in surface.
Pail and tub labels
6 in across a pail or tub side with 12 lines of product details.
Promotional decals
Readable from about 7.5 ft; supply art at 1838 × 788 px.
Getting the layout right
Keep text and logos inside a 5.875 × 2.375 in safe area and do not go below 8 pt. On the 4 oz Boston round, leave the last 0.35 in of each end plain so the seam never cuts through words.
Flat surfaces should measure 6.25 × 2.75 in or more. Used as a wrap, 6 in covers a bottle of about 1.99 in diameter almost completely.
Against 3 × 5 in you gain 0% more face with 6 × 2.5 in; going up to 4 × 3.75 in gives 0% more.

Usually yes. A typical 4 oz Boston round is about 1.95 in across (6.15 in around) with roughly 2.7 in of straight wall. 6 in around and 2.5 in tall fits that space; measure your own container, because bottle makers vary by a few millimetres.

Roughly 4,900 (3″ core) / 1,300 (1″ core) when wound single file.
How do I avoid blurry 6 × 2.5 in labels?
Send at least 1,838 × 788 px for raster art – 300 dpi across the 6.125 × 2.625 in bleed area – or a vector PDF.
