2.5 × 4 in labels
2.5 by 4 inches, portrait, is a classic back label for 750 ml wine bottles: tall enough for tasting notes, the producer's address and the legal lines, narrow enough to sit on the flat-looking back of the bottle without creasing. We checked it against common containers: it works for the front of a 12 oz can as well as a 4 × 9 in cello treat bag (3.75 × 6 in). That is space for about 27 lines of roughly 38 characters at 8 pt – enough for a full-size UPC-A barcode with a line or two above it.

2.5 × 4 in labels: typical jobs
750 ml wine back label
The 4 in height fits below the shoulder of Bordeaux- and Burgundy-style bottles, with room for tasting notes, the producer line and the legal text.
Face label: 12 oz can
A 2.6 in diameter leaves the 2.5 in face nearly flat to the eye, about 30% of the circumference.
Promotional decals
Readable from about 7.5 ft; supply art at 788 × 1238 px.
Bag and pouch fronts
The whole brand panel on one 2.5 × 4 label – no printed bags needed for small runs.
Before you design
Set your canvas to 788 × 1238 px, put a 2.375 × 3.875 in guide inside it, and nothing smaller than 8 pt. With 27 lines available at 8 pt, rank the information and drop anything a customer would not miss.
Fit check: as a front label it needs a flat panel of about 2.75 × 4.25 in; wrapped around a bottle, the 2.5 in length suits containers from roughly 0.88 in diameter up.
2.5 × 4 in has 3% more space than 3.25 × 3 in; 10 × 1 in adds 0% more.
