A lid label is the label your customer sees from above: on a stacked shelf, in a drawer, on a candle. Round lid labels are one of the easiest labels to design and apply, and they give your brand a small, consistent mark.

Getting lid labels right
Measure the flat part
Lids with a raised rim need a label slightly smaller than the flat top.
Centre it
A small border looks better than edge-to-edge when applied by hand.
Consistency
Use the same size across the range so they stack neatly.
Surface
Metal, plastic and glass lids differ; test on yours.

Matte finish on white stock is neat and easy to read; clear stock lets a coloured lid show through; foil accents add shine.
