Designing for transparent stock
White ink changes everything
On clear film, colours look different over a light or dark product. Ask about a white layer under key artwork so text stays readable on dark contents.
Contents show through
Liquids, wax and powders affect how the label looks. A pale product makes pale ink fade; a dark one makes it vivid.
Keep bubbles away
Clear labels show trapped air. Apply from one edge with a squeegee or card, and start on clean, dry glass or plastic.
Think about the edge
With no white border, the cut edge is visible. Rounded corners and a slightly generous margin tend to look cleanest.

Choose clear stock when the container is part of the look. Pair it with simple, bold artwork and ask the proof to show white under the key elements. For container colours that would swallow the artwork, our standard white stock is the safer pick.

Can clear labels be printed with white ink?
White ink can be included in the artwork file and is shown on the proof. Tell us in the quote notes if you need white under particular elements.
Are clear labels waterproof?
Clear film does not absorb water. As with every label, test it on your container in real conditions first.
Will clear labels yellow?
We do not make a long-term claim; keep labels out of constant strong sunlight and heat if colour permanence matters to you.
Can I use clear labels on a window?
They stick to clean glass. Choose permanent for products; for temporary window displays, see our removable labels page.
