1.25 × 0.75 in oval labels: typical jobs
Face label: 15 ml essential oil bottle
A 0.98 in diameter leaves the 1.25 in face nearly flat to the eye, about 40% of the circumference.
Front of a 1 oz dropper bottle
Covers about 30% of the way round a 1.3 in body, so the whole label reads face-on.
Sample and vial caps
A 2–3 digit code on 32 × 19 mm identifies tubes, vials and sample caps.
Bottle shoulders and necks
A 32 mm oval sits on curved shoulders where corners would lift.
Before you design
Guide lines first: 1.125 × 0.625 in for content, 412 × 262 px for the full bleed canvas, 6 pt minimum type. Set any border at least 0.06 in inside the curve so small cutting drift is invisible.
Leave margin: a flat face of 1.5 × 1 in (38 mm across) keeps the 1.25 × 0.75 in oval clear of edges.
Against 1 × 0.5 in oval you gain 88% more face with 1.25 × 0.75 in oval, and going up to 1.5 × 0.75 in oval gives 20% more.
